The last few days have been filled with packing up our house stuff, Lance putting in his last day of work, finalizing details with renting our house out, and saying goodbye to family and friends for the next few months. It feels like a roller coaster of emotions…one moment feeling so incredibly excited and the next moment thinking ‘what on earth are we getting ourselves into’.<\/p>\n

Saturday we spent all day moving. We were blessed with family and friends that helped us move everything from our house out into our little 12×16 shed. The guys packed it so efficiently and it was amazing how everything fit into the shed. Pictures don’t really do justice since you cant see the back and how they hung stuff off the ceiling.<\/p>\n

Eating pizza together for lunch. These little people worked so hard too carrying smaller boxes. <\/em><\/p>\n

I packed away my planner too. This went with me most everywhere I went and was a big part of my life. I was so attached to it and I find so much security in a schedule and planning every detail of my day out. So here’s to taking life as it comes, enjoying each moment planned or unplanned, and getting out of my comfort zone!<\/p>\n

I find myself wanting to plan exactly how many miles a day we will do instead of listening to my body and just doing as much as we want to. I have to remind myself…this isn\u2019t a job that I HAVE to do….this is an experience i GET TO enjoy.<\/p>\n

One of the hardest things for me to part with were my 2 cats. Lance’s sister Marthina said she would take care of them and his mom graciously allowed them to be in her house. I felt so badly to wreck there little worlds by leaving them but I know they will be so well taken care of.<\/p>\n

They loved to just hang out with us with whatever we were doing. <\/em><\/p>\n

Sunday evening Lance\u2019s brother Lorin threw us a going away party. We set up our tent and sleeping set up and laid out all our gear so people could see what we are taking. It was such a fun evening being with friends and seeing everyone again before we leave. I was so overwhelmed with everyone\u2019s kind words and love and support they showed. We will miss everyone so much. Afterwards we went back to Lance’s family’s place and said our goodbyes and headed out with Hans. He is going down to Georgia with us and dropping us off at the trail.<\/p>\n

These are our happy ‘we been traveling for 15 hours’ faces. <\/em><\/p>\n

We stopped in to spend some time with some of Lance’s cousins that live in GA before we start our hike. We went canoeing all day and got to see some big gators too!<\/p>\n

This pretty much sums up the last few days of what’s going on in our life. Tomorrow on Thursday we start our hike! I still can hardly believe it’s actually here but I’m so ready to just start!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
